Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)

Participants will receive instruction on the 6 classes of WHMIS products and 8 symbols, supplier labels, workplace labels and how to read/use a MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). Participants will also receive instruction on recommended controls when using WHMIS products commonly found in most workplaces.

Bloodborne Pathogens Awareness

Participants will learn about the various types of bloodborne illnesses as well as the routes of exposure. Participants will be instructed on the precautions to be taken to prevent exposure.

Transportation of Dangerous Goods

This certification course will provide the participants with instruction on placarding/labeling requirements, appropriate packaging, spill reporting, exemptions and proper shipping document requirements for Dangerous Goods shipped by road or rail. Re-training is required every 3 years.

To provide participants with instruction on proper anchor points, inspection, donning, care and use of fall arrest harnesses as well as considerations for post fall rescue and applicable standards.

Participants will learn about the requirements for a proper respiratory protection program. Participants will be instructed on proper selection, donning and care of their respirators. If requested a qualitative fit test can be conducted and fit test records provided.
